We’ll be looking at some facts and figures on how COVID has affected various destinations, look at how travel companies can keep their destinations in the news and front of mind with their target markets, and look at some examples of good campaigns.

Tim Russell

Based in Bangkok, Tim is eRoam’s Commercial Director for Southeast Asia and is also the company’s Global Marketing Coordinator, responsible for the company’s website and other digital marketing initiatives.

Originally from the UK, he has been in the tourism industry since 1992 and has worked for the likes of JAC Travel, Open Destinations and Exotissimo, as well as founding a DMC in Vietnam and his own mobile travel app startup. He has been in Southeast Asia since 2003 and joined eRoam in the summer of 2020.

Jens Thraenhart

Jens is Executive Director of the Mekong Tourism Coordinating Office (MTCO), and is based in Bangkok. He joined the MTCO in 2014 after previously founding Beijing-based digital marketing agency Dragon Trail, and he also manages consultancy firm Chameleon Strategies which has offices in Bangkok, Hong Kong and Vancouver.

The Mekong Tourism Coordinating Office (MTCO) is an inter-governmental body to promote the Mekong region as a single tourism destination and foster responsible tourism development in the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS).
